Email response back to Lt. Morgan on 06/14/10

#1 Since it was voted on by the Pension Board to pay Ms. Cochran's salary, didn't you guys know what the Pension Law said at that time of the vote. The city has an office full of attorneys that could step in and do the job. Also, why should it take for a budget meeting of the city to decide to stop paying Ms. Cochran's salary. The Pension Board has that power to vote on it and pass the motion to stop paying the salary, regardless what the city says. The Pension Board again has that power. Yes the city will have to budget that salary into the city budget. Again something like this should have been brought to the attention of Police Department Members of the Pension before being voted on. Also, what were the voting numbers on this was it a unanimous vote?

#2 The Interest Bearing Account: Why does it take that many months to setup a bank account? Also in the mean time, where will that interest money go and who will keep up with the dollar amount. How long has this been going on and why was this not made known to Police Pension Members, did the Police Representatives not know this themselves or did and just didn't inform us. Again these are the types of things that Pension Members need to known, these are very important issues.

Special Note: In the future could you guys inform our Police Pension Members of things of this nature and anything that deals with our pension.
